Ride Lime, And Support Seattle Neighborhood Greenways

As of May 30th, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways is a beneficiary of the Lime Hero donation program in Seattle.

Lime Hero gives Lime bike share (the green rental bikes parked around the neighborhood) riders the option to round up the cost, or add a small percentage, to donate to a local non-profit.  The non-profit is Seattle Neighborhood Greenways (SNG.)

SNG works for a more walkable, bikeable and live-able city, through grassroots advocacy for a city-wide network of protected bike lanes, safe routes for kids to walk and bike to school, and community-identified projects in under-invested neighborhoods.  SNG empowers communities to advocate for safe, healthy streets for all people, creating a transportation system that gives us more choice of how to get around.

When renting a Lime Bike, consider giving to Seattle Neighborhood Greenways (and encourage your friends to do so.)

Also, don’t be a Bike Blocker!  The Seattle Department of Transportation and Rooted in Rights have created a short (1 ½ minutes,) entertaining video about the importance of proper bike share parking, and where are correct places to park a Lime or Jump Bike.  Please watch the video (called Bike Share Parking) – and read the Seattle Department of Transportation blog entry written by Molly Wright.
