Ross Playground Renovation Plan – Final Open House

Seattle Parks and Recreation will host a final community meeting on renovation of the Ross Play Area on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Ross Shelterhouse (4320 4th Ave. NW.)

At this meeting representatives from Seattle Parks and the designer for the project, Worthy and Associates, will discuss the final design, the construction schedule, and impacts to the park during construction.  Come review the final design, see the play equipment selection, and get the proposed construction timeline.

This renovation project, identified in the Parks and Green Spaces Levy, will provide new play equipment, site improvements and access improvements.  The $146 million Parks and Green Spaces Levy, approved by voters in November 2008, provides acquisition funding for new neighborhood parks and green spaces, and development funding for projects such as improved playfields, reservoir lid parks, renovated playgrounds, community gardens, and safety upgrades at city owned cultural facilities.

The renovation for Ross Park has a current budget of $450,000, with construction scheduled to start in late May 2001 through August 2011.  The website states that construction will be completed in August of this year.
