On December 27th & 28th, join a beginner boot camp for Salsa 101, a dance form everyone wants to learn, with so many ways of expression. In a few hours over two days, learn the basics and more. Register through the Salsa Con Todo website.
On January 3rd & 4th, those looking for harder techniques, turns and styling – preferably after taking Salsa 101 – can join Salsa 2 Boot Camp. Register on-line, or e-mail for more information at salsatodo@gmail.com.
Over the weekend of January 10th & 11th, take two exciting workshops, one or both, with Jonathan Troupe, on ‘Island Zouk.’ The first class, on Saturday from 6p – 9p, teaches leading and following with finesse, and includes basics of the unique form of Zoukster-Zouk lines, movement and rotation, the four fundamental steps and infinity flow inter-relationship, and the art and rewards of stillness.
The second class, on Sunday from Noon – 3p, is a workshop on intermediate and advanced Zouk. This includes island-style isolations, vertical leading and following, off-axis chaine turns, head finish and hair flicks. Consider one or all of the workshops, or simply join a drop-in class and social dance. Every Friday, at 8p, for $10, learn Salsa for beginner and intermediate dancers, and at 9p, for $10, learn Bachata, also for beginner and intermediate dancers. This is followed, from 10p – 3a, by an all-ages social dance – for $5, or free with purchase of the two classes.
