On March 29th, at 3p, at History House, the next Fremont Fireside Chat examines the Fremont Public Art Collection, and Barbara Luecke will help us do that examination. Sponsored by HomeStreet Bank, the Fremont Fireside Chat explores the culture, people, history and events of the ‘Center of the Universe’ in a live, informal and educational format – completely free for attendees.
This time, meet Fremont Arts Council Board Member Barb Luecke. She co-founded the Solstice Parade, and facilitated the grants and public process that brought the Troll to Fremont. She currently works as Public Art Program Manager for Sound Transit.
The Fremont neighborhood has over 60 pieces of public art, of many different sizes and styles, created by a variety of artists over four decades. Fremocentrist.com has inventoried roughly 40 of these pieces (read the eighth installment on-line,) and more are added to the collection each year.
