On Saturday, May 26th, at 2p, at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library, the next Fremont Fireside Chat will share, live, valuable information and stories on the Fremont Arts Council – and its absolutely extraordinary events.
Learn about the legendary Fremont Arts Council’s Fremont Solstice Parade, and the unknown or underestimated Solstice Celebration that follows at Gasworks Park. Arts Council volunteers Susan Harper (former Board President) and Farley Harding (current Board President) will share personal stories from-the-trenches of building these iconic events. They, and special guests, will talk about what it takes to create engaging opportunities for creative expression and artistic performance.
The one-hour program will touch on the history and the future of these extravagant sensations, and their unrestrainable mix of art and exuberance. This presentation is open to all ages, and will be followed by refreshments and a period for questions and, it is to be hoped, answers.
Come hear how ordinary citizens organize and orchestrate the most original of all performance art events, the Fremont Solstice Parade, during this free and educational Fremont Fireside Chat. Find more information on the Facebook event page, or at instigator@box2219.temp.domains
