According to reliable sources, Catholic Housing Services has received a promise of funding from the State of Washington and the City of Seattle to build their proposed affordable permanent housing in Fremont.  The 71-unit building will be constructed on the west side of Aurora Avenue North, at the former site of the Thunderbird Motel.

Catholic Housing Services has current plans to start demolition and construction in the fall of 2012, with occupancy of tenants – formerly homeless and/or low income people seeking permanent housing – in the fall of 2013.

Representatives from Catholic Housing Services have attended, and held, public meetings and will continue to do so as they seek input from the community on how to make the project a positive experience for everyone involved.
