Today, the first Schilling & Company Hard Cider tasting room is open in Downtown Fremont, at 708 N 34th St (facing the ‘People Waiting for the Interurban’, and tempting them along with their neighbor, Old School Frozen Custard.) Now open, from 11a – 11p every day, Schilling & Company have dozens and dozens of ciders available, on 32 taps, in bottles and in cans – including their own special blends.
According to Eric Phillips, Assistant Manager for the Fremont’s first Cider Room, they want to provide a place for people to hang out and learn about cider. They plan to invite in other cider makers, to talk about the craft of cider. The tasting room currently has a wall of art, but Phillips promised that it will be expanded to wrap half the space. Finally, while they don’t serve food, they want to encourage visitors to bring in lunches, from neighbors like the Yellow Dot Café, to eat while they enjoy a Schilling Chai Cider, Coffee Spiced Cider or a Blueberry Pear Cider – all on tap.
Colin Schilling, founder of Schilling & Company, takes great pride in the quality crafting of cider made from 100% premium Washington State apples. All ingredients for Schilling ciders are hand-selected for creating the perfect flavor profile. “It is our obsession to craft the most complex, yet dangerously drinkable cider we can,” states the Schilling & Company materials.
Stop by the Schilling Cider Room soon, and welcome them to the neighborhood… and enjoy a cider for your trouble!
