SDOT Reports Improvements NOT Coming To Stone Way

A map of an ambitious roadways project undertaken by SDOT, called the Green Lake & Wallingford Paving & Multi-Modal Improvements project.

Over the last two years, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has been completing a massive roadway project, called the Green Lake & Wallingford Paving & Multi-Modal Improvements.  This project was aimed at creating safer streets for people walking, biking, driving, or taking transit – from Stone Way at N 50th Street along the east side of Green Lake.

Unfortunately, SDOT has had to issue a notice that parts of this project will not be completed.  Paving of Stone Way N between N 45th St and N 50th St will not be done, nor will improvements be coming now to the 5-way intersection at N 50th & Stone Way & Green Lake Way.

Due to “a change in funding availability due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other competing needs led to construction at this location being paused,” according to a press release dated June 24th.
