On Saturday, October 19th, join Seattle Against Slavery (SAS) at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center for the inaugural Fall Wine Tasting – a fundraiser to fight human trafficking here in Washington State, including within the Seattle area.
Attendees can enjoy a tasting journey of wines from Fletcher Bay Winery, with paired cheeses selected by the Kitchen Sink Project. Held in the community comfort of the Fremont Abbey, this gathering will bring together those committed to stopping the exploitation, smuggling, and imprisonment of human trafficking victims.
Dr. Debra Boyer recently reported that between 300 – 500 youth in Seattle are engaged in prostitution. A July 2013 report stated that 61 children were rescued with over 250 arrests in an on-line sweep by law enforcement. Human trafficking happens, even in the United States.
Help SAS, a grass roots coalition, to fight for a slave-free world – while enjoying fine wine and paired cheeses, on October 19th. Purchase tickets to this event, for $20 per person, through Brown Paper Tickets, and find out more information on the SAS website (and through a Fremocentrist.com column from April 2011.)
