On Friday, December 14th, from 5p – 10p, the Seattle Elks Lodge #92 (located in the former Ponti’s restaurant,) will be hosting a Block Party with some neighbors, to watch the Christmas ShipTM Parade of Boats down the Lake Washington Ship Canal.
The party will take place in the parking lot of the Elks Lodge, at 3014 3rd Ave, under tents. Recently, the lodge was damaged by fire, but that won’t stop them celebrating – or raising money for those in more dire circumstances.
The event, and all the food and entertainment, is free, but they will be collecting a $10 suggested donation to assist the members of the Paradise California Lodge #2026, who lost everything in wildfires this past fall.
Also, the Elks have asked for donations of toys for children (infants through teens,) and food donations for holiday food baskets to be distributed to veterans in need.
The Christmas Ships are due to pass through the Canal at 7:30p, but everyone is welcome to come early and stay late for treats and entertainment, and conviviality with the Elks! For more information, visit the Facebook Event Page – or contact seattleelks92@gmail.com
