Seattle Pacific University Hosts Free Music Events Over Next Few Weeks

Throughout February and March, Seattle Pacific University will host several free, open-to-the-public musical events at the First Free Methodist Church (3200 Third Ave W.)

  • On Friday, February 21st, at 7:30p, enjoy the Seattle Pacific University (SPU) Wind Ensemble as they perform ‘In Wartime’. This is the only band work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Del Tredici.
  • On Tuesday, February 25th, at 7:30p, liturgist and artistic director Phillip Ferrell will lead the Gospel Choir & Worship Arts Ensemble in a night of worship. Take part in prayers, black spirituals, and ecumenical readings in honor of Black History Month, with the SPU Gospel Choir.

  • On Thursday, February 27th, at 7:30p, the SPU Symphony Orchestra will explore the dance music of 19th & 20th century black composers. Come celebrate Black History Month with the music of the Symphony Orchestra.
  • On Tuesday, March 3rd, at 7:30p, the SPU Percussion Ensemble, led by director of percussion studies Dan Adams, performs in concert.
  • On Friday, March 6th, at 7:30p, the SPU Vocal Ensemble will perform from a broad repertory of songs. Come hear them perform known and new songs.
