On December 5th, from 6p – 7:30p, all Fremont neighbors are invited to give input to the Seattle Parks & Recreation on renovations to the B.F. Day Playground Play Area, in the Upper parkland. The public meeting will take place in the cafeteria of B.F. Day Elementary School.
This is the second public meeting on these renovations, and attendees will be able to give their opinion on designs and potential play equipment. The Renovation Project will replace the play equipment in the Upper Playfield, improve the adjacent picnic area, replace the drinking fountain, and improve the accessibility to the park in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Funding for the Renovation Project is being provided by the Seattle Park District, as approved by voters in 2014. The Seattle Park District provides more than $47 million a year in long-term funding towards the major maintenance backlog for the Seattle Parks & Recreation Department.
