The Seattle Police Department recently posted a message from Chief Adrian Diaz, where he acknowledged that the department, “is experiencing one of the most challenging times in its history,” that “present a daily risk factor for all first responders.”
One of the challenges are the efforts to restructure and revamp the Department and Chief Diaz goes on to write, “As we talk about what the future of public safety looks like, I think it’s also important for you to hear directly from some of the people currently doing this important job.”
To that end, the Seattle Police have launched a video series called ‘Officers In Their Own Words.’ This series will share the personal thoughts of the officers featured, on policing and how they will work to achieve equitable public safety for all. Learn why they chose careers in the police, how they want to build trust and respect, and how they see the Seattle Police Department moving forward.
