The Fremont First Friday Art Walk takes place this month on September 2nd, from 6p – 9p.  The Art Walk allows us all to take a stroll, see the art, meet the artists and chat with local business owners and other art aficionados.

However, most venues not only show their art the night of the FFF Art Walk, but all month long!  Check out these three shows going on throughout September 2016:

  • Art F/X – Award-winning textile designer Shun Lee has brought her silk paintings to this local gallery, along with her knowledge of this ancient Chinese art.  Lee teaches courses in the ‘Art of Silk’ in Monroe, but she will be displaying her own examples of how silk can be used as the canvas to create beautiful prints full of bright colors and teasing imagery.  Her show, ‘The Art of Silk Painting’ will be on display at Art F/X through October 30th.

  • Portage Bay GoodsNeptune Creations, created by Susan Elliot, will present the Dia de los Muertos inspired series of original art, cards, journals and more.  Elliot, a local artist, displays her passion for ink, pen and pencil in these colorfully gruesome pieces.  On display at Portage Bay throughout September.
  • Frame-Up Studio – John Hunter’s unique paintings incorporate many expressionist characters yet his style is immediately his own.  Hunter makes full use of color and light, and though its textures, his paintings show depth and even hints of movement.  The playfulness in this body of work reveals a talented artist whose expression is without end.  On display at Frame-Up throughout September.

In addition to these three shows, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk has more venues and artists to offer.  Check out the FFF website for more information – and hope to see you out strolling the Center of the Universe this Friday!

Remember, though, if you miss it this Friday, check back in and at least see the art throughout the month!!
