On Tuesday, October 4th, single gay and lesbian cyclists will have a chance to meet other bike lovers as Hub and Bespoke hosts their second “Slow Ride Speed Date” event.
Same gender participants will be paired for 3-minute bike rides on a pre-set path through the Fremont neighborhood. After the ride, participants can note the individuals they are interested in for further contact on provided booklets, and a Hub and Bespoke representative will later notify each person about their matches.
The first speed date event, held in August, was a success according to Hub and Bespoke co-founder, Aldan Shank. “There were several matches and everyone said they had a great time. We’re excited to do it again, this time for our gay and lesbian friends.” Shank says the event offers bike-riding singles a chance to meet people with similar interests and values.
E-mail hubandbespoke@gmail.com today if you are interested in participating. Spots are limited, and filled up early last time. Also, all participants must bring a bike to ride. Participants will gather at 5:45pm at Hub and Bespoke (513 N 36th St,) and after the ‘dates’ everyone can stroll over to a neighborhood watering hold for a friendly mixer.
