A thought-provoking, funny production coming to WofL for a very limited run!

Starting this Thursday, July 26th, Dumas Theatre is bringing Sarah Ruhl’s award-winning play, ‘Dead Man’s Cell Phone’, to Fremont’s West of Lenin for a limited two-week run.  Grab tickets now to get in to see this funny and poignant production that poses a thought-provoking question:  if a stranger’s cell phone rings, do you answer it?

When Jean encounters a random cell phone, she stops the ringing and follows the calls of a dead man into his family and life.  Along the way, she actually learns more about herself than those characters she encounters.  This examination of how technology can bring people together, and keep them apart, has many laugh-out-loud moments we can all relate to.  It’s an opportunity not to be missed, from playwright Sarah Ruhl, a recent MacArthur Grant winner.

The preview performance of ‘Dead Man’s Cell Phone’ will be on July 26th at 7p. There will be five regular performances, on July 27th, July 28th, Aug 2nd, Aug 3rd, and 4th, all at 7p.  Tickets can be purchased through Brown Paper Tickets, or before the shows at the box office – while they last.

Remember, West of Lenin is air-conditioned – providing a perfect night out, as a break from the heat, to enjoy this allegory for modern times.
