On Saturday, May 21^st & Sunday, May 22^nd, between 9a – 9p, stop by the Fremont Arts Council workshop space, The Powerhouse, for a few minutes (or a few hours) and find your inspiration for the 2016 Solstice Parade.

This open, and public, weekend-long brainstorming session will include food, fun and unfettered sharing of ideas and dreams of our ideal celebratory street performance. Bring your inspiration, or find it here, and get started creating art!

Drop-in anytime, or plan to attend during one of the special sessions.

Saturday, May 21^st:

9a- 11a – Potluck Pancake Breakfast: the FAC will provide the pancakes, while attendees bring their favorite fixings and sides
11a – 4p – Float Move: help shift the Solstice Parade float bodies from storage to The Powerhouse, and clean them up for use this year. Some bodies remain available for building, so take a look while there and see if you want to create a float for this annual extravaganza.
4p – 9p – Live Music & Workshops: Join a project! Learn a skill! Contribute your ideas!

5p – 7p – Potluck Stone Soup Dinner: the FAC will provide soup base, and attendees can bring their own ingredients to contribute to either the meat or vegan pot, and share in the tasty results
6p – McKay Grant Presentations: hear about the projects and floats already in the works for the 2016 Parade, and figure out which one you might want to assist…

Sunday, May 22^nd:

Even if you can’t stop by this weekend, attend any of the upcoming workshops / open studio times and hammer a nail or create an entire ensemble for the Parade. The Powerhouse will be open to all starting May 21^st through June 17^th, on Mondays – Fridays from 3p – 10p, and Saturdays & Sundays from Noon – 10p (except this weekend.)

The 2016 Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade will take place on Saturday, June 18^th starting at 3p. Consider participating this year, instead of just watching. Go to the Fremont Arts Council website and click ‘Get Involved!’
