On Friday, January 3rd, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk returns for 2020 with venues showing some of the most outrageous, creative and colorful art imaginable – and you can stroll and see it all for free!
Visit the venues around Fremont on this first Friday of the new year, and fill you soul with all the beauty, and inspiration, that art can deliver. The Fremont Art Walk website always lists the venues showing this month (click here,) but be sure while out to stop by:
- Frame Up Studios – See art by a true visionary and start the new year with an artist destined to change the world. Dolan Pondsmith uses different techniques, mediums and styles to immediately captivate the viewer to the works of this young artist. This first show of the year for Frame Up is sure to be one of the most memorable!
- Down Under Gallery – Curator Adrian Laney is showing his ‘Fall Walkabout’ series of photos, capturing a season across southern Canada and the mid-U.S. Immerse yourself in these images and stories shared by the photographer. The Gallery also has works of glass by Rodman Gilder Miller, block prints by Jose Benevides, knitwear and photos by Sarah Weathers of Vibrant Poppy, and Moisture Festival photos by Michelle Bates. Step down the stairs, next door to Kwanjaii Thai, and enjoy the art Down Under.
- Friday Afternoon Tea – The magical and mystical photos of Kim Janik are on-display in this intimate tea shop on the edges of Fremont, on Stone Way. Stop by to sample some creative mixes of tea, and to see the works of Janik, during the January FFF.
- The Uncommon Cottage – A Fremont favorite, Eli Wolff, is having his second annual show in one of the most whimsical and weird gift shops, only at the Center of the Universe. Come enjoy some January fun, along with the iconic art of this successful Seattle artist.
- Portage Bay Goods – Come see the incredible talent of the PBG staff at the 4th Annual Employee Art Walk! Featuring the art of Lauren Rathburn (manateeparty), Jasmine Gil (Leather and Eye), and Veronica Margarito Lopez (Bedrock Industries), this show will have many mediums on display with design, fiber art, leatherwork, glasswork, and more all created by hand. All this art will be on display amidst the playful products usually available at PBG, the procrastinator’s gift shop.

Stroll through on your way to your evening’s entertainment, or make a night of this free and all ages event.
