The Summer Solstice Art Week will provide whimsical turns on every block in Fremont, starting today!
Fremont has over 70 pieces of art installed around the neighborhood – arguably the largest public collection of art in any single community around the U.S., and definitely the largest at the Center of the Universe! This week, take a self-guided tour of the art (click here for the map) – using foot-power!
Starting today, you can pick up a Cocktail Passport at Triangle Spirits or The George & Dragon Pub to sip your way through a spirit-filled Solstice! Done in partnership with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Apple, this 21+ neighborhood pub crawl can earn prizes for those interested in collecting stamps and completing the tasty cocktail trail around Fremont!
This week, a mural will be painted, across from Theo Chocolate’s factory on Phinney Ave N, and completed on Friday, June 18th. Sponsored by Jack Daniel’s, the spot will be ideal for selfie-snapping over the weekend of the Summer Solstice Art Week!
The weekend is where the Summer Solstice Art Week gets its full concentration, with:
- Seattle Art Cars – from Noon to 5p on Saturday on the parking lot around Free Range Cycles
- Fremont Arts Council Stationary Floats – on-display Saturday & Sunday, the FAC will have dancers, hula-hooping, and chalking of clown faces going on throughout the ‘hood
- PENINSULA parking lot EXTRA-vaganza – from Noon to 5p on Saturday & Sunday, with live music and circus performers entertaining along the Ship Canal at N 35th St & 1st Ave NW
- Fremont Sunday Market – from 10a to 4p explore the treasures of this incredible open-air shopping odyssey, along N 34th St from Phinney Ave N (Rumor has it that there may be an FAC mini-float display at the Market too!)
For those masked and/or vaccinated, this is a great time to get out and explore the fun and frivolity that only Fremont can create! Stop by for an hour, or for several days, and help us celebrate the Center of the Universe. Visit the FremontFair.com website (click here,) to get the latest information about what is happening – and the Fremont Chamber of Commerce website for a map to the Self-Guided Tour (click here.)
See you there!
