The Fremont Chamber of Commerce is sending out notices to their members, and anyone interested in knowing about our community, about ways we can support our small, local businesses. Find out more about the Chamber at Fremont.com
Marketime Foods, and its partner Ken’s Market, can now offer delivery and curbside grocery pick-up, starting at $100 minimum orders, for the safety and convenience of our neighbors. Please note that alcohol cannot be delivered, but it can be offered at the curbside with a review of appropriate identification. Unfortunately, not all of our businesses can operate under the current ‘Shelter-In-Place’ directive. Juniper Flowers is unable to deliver flowers until after the directive is lifted – hopefully on May 5th – although orders placed now, using the code SPRING, receive a 15% discount. Also, e-gift certificates are available for purchase on-line (click here.) For those who have events coming up, a wedding, anniversary or other occasion, in need of the elegant and gorgeous floral arrangements of Juniper Flowers, Jean Louise can still do consultations through Zoom, or schedule one for after the quarantine. Also, for those brides still marrying now, Juniper can provide a-la-carte items (bridal bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, etc.) for curbside pick-up. Visit the Juniper Flowers website (click here) to find out more, and see stunning photos of their floral works of artistry!
Dusty Strings Music Shop has had to make the difficult decision to furlough much of its work force during the extended COVID-19 shutdown. This also means that they will not be able to process on-line orders of smaller items, including accessories and books. For purchase of larger instruments, contact music@dustystrings.com with a call-back phone number.
The Dusty Strings Music School has created a way to provide on-line lessons, via Skype or Zoom, to help employ some of their teachers (and musicians) during this difficult time – and to keep students’ minds sharp! Both existing students and newcomers are welcome to make use of this service. View a full list of the teachers, and classes, available on DustyStrings.com (click here,) and e-mail school@dustystrings.com with a call-back phone number to get started.
Dusty Strings celebrated 40 years of making high-quality, artisan instruments last year. It would be a real tragedy to lose this cornerstone business due to COVID-19. If you can support Dusty Strings but don’t lessons or an instrument right now, consider purchasing a gift card now! Gift cards for $100 or more will be mailed using USPS Priority Mail, which includes insurance and a tracking number. Visit the DustyStrings.com website for more information.
Portage Bay Goods has also converted to an on-line, virtual store, with a wide selection of creative, crafty and clever items ideal for sending to friends and family who just need a smile or nudge. The staff at PBG “totally miss your faces” during this weird time, but they are still adding new products to their on-line store, and their Instagram page.
Burnt Sugar is still offering free shipping in Washington State, and on orders of $99 or more everywhere else. For regular store customers, Momo, the Shop Dog, misses you but hopes your are staying safe! He’s doing well too.
Les Amis celebrated 24 years in business last week, although the cozy and inviting boutique is currently closed. Since 1996, Les Amis has offered a curated selection of global designer clothing and jewelry – now available through the on-line boutique (click here.)
The Down Under Gallery has new art ready to be seen as soon as it is safe to re-open, but in the meantime, the Gallery will be posting images on its Facebook Page (click here,) and the new Gallery website (click here.) We do look forward to seeing you Down Under as soon as the Governor lifts the ‘Stay Home, Stay Healthy,’ directive.
