Sunday, March 8th is International Women’s Day; a day to honor the struggles and accomplishments of women all over the world. The programs and resources at FamilyWorks support local women, and their families, to survive and thrive, sometimes against incredible odds.
The Family Resource Center & Food Bank offers access to many free resources that nourish and strengthen families, such as:
- diapers and baby wipes
- children’s clothing
- nourishing snacks & groceries
- school supplies
These items can be taken for granted, but for marginalized families the difference between having and not having is cavernous. For mothers, access to these essential items can reduce anxiety, financial uncertainty, and improve their health and well-being. The confidence of having easy access to these necessities can foster healthy childhood development and bring stability to families.
As families in our community face housing insecurity and other disruptions to their lives, the demand for FamilyWorks resources grows.
In honor of International Women’s Day, please consider making a significant donation to ensure that women in our neighborhood have the tools and resources they need to meet their family’s basic needs.
Plus, if you make a one-time gift of $100 or more, or a recurring monthly gift of $15 or more (up to $1,000) your gift will be matched – doubling your impact! Visit the FamilyWorks website (click here) to find out how to donate. Together we can create a more resilient community for all!
