The Seattle Public Schools has proposed new attendance area boundaries to accommodate an increasing enrollment, and construction of new school buildings.  At this time, the focus of the proposal is on elementary and middle school boundaries, including B.F. Day Elementary School in Fremont.

The latest proposed boundary changes can be found on-line.  The District currently will accept public input on these Growth Boundaries via a survey through October 25th.

An effort in early October to inform the School District about the need for a full, healthy population for B.F. Day resulted in an agreement for a proposed capacity of 450 students, as reported on the B.F. Day PTSA blog.  However, input needs to continue to be given to the School District to encourage support for Fremont’s public school.

The revised recommendations, based in part on public input, will be sent to the School Board for its November 6th meeting, with a vote scheduled for November 20th.  If approved, implementation of new elementary and middle school boundaries will begin for the 2014/15 school year.
