On June 7th or 8th, take one of two remaining opportunities for relaxing and expanding your knowledge of nature, beauty and Ikebana. Only two more sessions remain in the spring quarter of the Hana Design Ikebana classes, held at Nalanda West, and taught by Charles Coughlan.
On Thursday, May 18th, several small boutiques in Fremont will be offering great opportunities for discounts and deals – plus workshops, pop-up shop and a chance to meet the artist! It’s all part and parcel of Fremont’s Third Thursday!
Next Wednesday, on May 10th, from midnight to midnight, the Seattle Foundation will host its annual Day of Philanthropy, where our on-line donations to area non-profits can be stretched through strategic corporate matches. This year, early-bird pledges can be accepted for GiveBIG in advance of May 10th, with the donation to be processed on that day.
The Seattle Pacific University Theatre Department presents ‘Into The Woods’ over the first two weekends of May – May 4th – 6th and May 11th – 13th, with evening shows on Friday & Saturday, at 7:30p, and Sunday matinees at 2p.

On Saturday, April 29th, at 5p, Outsider Comics & Geek Boutique will present an evening with award-winning comic book writer, author, filmmaker, journalist, and educator David F. Walker. This live chat and question-and-answer recording will be hosted and recorded by Samantha Cross for ‘That Girl With The Curls’ podcast, with an author signing to follow.

Local filmmaker Michael Falcone’s documentary, ‘The Hall Of Giants: The Story of Fremont & The Troll’, has been nominated for Best Documentary and Best Cinematography prizes at the Nice International Film Festival in France. On Monday, May 15th, the film will be shown to audiences and judges, with the prize bestowed on the winning film on May 20th.
