The always provocative West of Lenin welcomes back a favorite playwright – with a very unusual, hallucinatory work. For three nights only (June 18th – 20th,) in a new upstairs studio space, limited audiences can experience Tommy Smith’s multimedia piece, ‘Lotus Eaters (EP)’.
The City Of Seattle wants to encourage graffiti paint outs around our area this summer. This July and August, join together for a Summer Paint Out – whether as a group or an individual.
This month, Friday & Saturday nights, see the Sauer Bauer Production of ‘The Horrible Lamb’ at Fremont’s own West of Lenin theater.
At the Fremont Fair, June 21st – 23rd, art in every form – from body paint to community sculptures – can be found along the streets of the Center of the Universe. This celebration of “De Libertas Quirkas,” (the Freedom to Be Peculiar) can be enjoyed through the artistic whimsies of chalk art, handmade jewelry, and live music.
This Friday, June 7th, the Annual Fremont Fun Run & Briefcase Relay will race east on N 34th Street from Solstice Plaza, starting at 6p. Before and after the race, from 6p – 9p, take a more leisurely stroll through the Center of the Universe to view, for free, an amazing assortment of art, and art venues, during the First Friday Fremont Art Walk.
On Saturday, June 8th, at 2pm, History House of Greater Seattle will host a public open house for the Discovery Modelers Education Center (DMEC) celebrating, and detailing, their work. Come aboard this informative and entertaining discussion of nautical history and craftsmanship.
On Saturday, June 1st, at 11a, the City of Seattle will officially give the honorary name of ‘J.P. Patches Place’ to a portion of one of Fremont’s most traveled streets – N 34th St.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, from 7p – 9p, the Fremont Arts Council will host a wine-and-cheese reception for the artist’s selected as winners of this year’s Dave McKay Grants at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, lower floor.
This Saturday, May 18th, the Fremont Arts Council invites everyone to stop by their playhouse, The Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N,) for an Open House of the parade building studio, from Noon – 4p.
