The World Is Fun, a non-profit dedicated to engaging volunteers in fun, philanthropic activities, recently received the 2013 Wendy Walters Truitt Champions for Foster Kids Volunteer Excellence Award from Treehouse.

The Seattle Art Cars – a favorite feature of the Fremont Fair each year – appeared in the Greenwood Seafair Parade on July 25th, and took 2nd Place from the judges in the ‘wheeled division’.
At their annual Holiday Party, on December 7th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce unveiled their awards for efforts made in 2011 by area businesses, organizations and individuals.
In September 2011 Kvichak Marine Industries announced the award of a contract for a ‘Response Boat Medium – C’ by the Seattle Police Department Harbor Patrol. This boat will be sistership to a fleet of boats built by Kvichak for the U.S. Coast Guard, but adapted to serve the mission requirements of the Harbor Patrol. It will also be the 500th hull built by Kvichak in its 30 years of operation.
