For the 4th year Fremont will be overrun with Zombies, for the 2012 Red, White & Dead Zombie Walk to take place this Saturday, July 7th, from Noon – 8p. While the actual ‘walk’ (rather more of a mass lurch) will take place starting at 7p, starting at Noon will be ten mobile food trucks, live music, a Thriller Dance performance, a beer garden, and – most importantly – an official counting of the Zombies for another Guinness World Record attempt!
On Saturday, May 19th, from Noon – 4p, stop by B.F. Day Elementary School for a whole day of celebrations, information and – if so inclined – join a work party.
Until March 25th, the B.F. Day Elementary School Playground Project Team can accept public comment on the preferred concept plan for the playground improvements. The drawings are provided here, and on the B.F. Day PTSA website.
On Saturday, March 10th, the B.F. Day Elementary School PTSA will host an annual community building party that also raises money to fund vital programs for our public school. Swellegant, a cocktail party and mini-auction (with the fabulous Golden Raffle) will bring together Fremont community members and B.F. Day to socialize, and takes place from 7p – 11p at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center.
On Wednesday, March 7th, from 6p – 8p, come see the preferred design draft for the improvements for the B.F. Day Elementary School playground. The meeting, held in the school gymnasium, is the third, and last, of community outreach efforts to get Fremonsters involved in planning what we want to see on our playground.
On Thursday, February 2nd, from 6p – 8p, the 2nd Community Workshop will take place in the B.F. Day Elementary School Library, to gather input from residents, parents, kids, staff and business people of Fremont about improvements to the playground.
Every school year students at B.F. Day Elementary School (many of who come from new immigrant families where English is not spoken at home) need homework assistance, and they can get it from area volunteers. Questions can be sent to Tesh by e-mail, at bltesh@seattleschools.org or phone at 206/252-6042.
On Wednesday, November 30th, from 6p – 8p, all Fremonsters are encouraged to stop by the B.F. Day Elementary School gymnasium to give input on the design of the playground.
The Fremont Arts Council distributed, by e-mail, a list of items the teachers at B.F. Day Elementary School need. To find out more about the specific items – and how to donate – contact the school office at 3921 Linden Ave N or 206/252-6010.
