The Gas Works Park Play Area is scheduled to be closed January 28th & 29th as Wyser Construction crews use a crane to replace the decayed smoke arrestor located in the center of the play area.

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has proposed an upgrade to the bike lane on N 34th Street from Fremont Avenue east to Stone Way. The proposal, called the N 34th St Mobility Improvement project, would install a paint-and-post lane along N 34th for bicycle riders
Seattle Parks & Recreation staff, and the Superintendent, met with concerned neighbors of the Fremont Troll on December 3rd. Neighbors have sent letters and made calls about their concerns and requests for assistance with extreme trespassing and camping on the public property around the sculpture and the north-end of the Aurora Bridge.
The Seattle Police Department and Seattle Fire Department are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in the setting of arson fires in Fremont on Christmas Eve.
On Tuesday, December 11th, from 4:30p – 6p, at the Fremont Brewing Urban Beer Garden (1050 N 34th,) there will be a public drop-in session on the plans to install a protected, paint-and-post bike lane along N 34th, from Fremont Ave to Stone Way.
Residents who live near the Fremont Troll, and several of them who clean and maintain the park around the popular sculpture, have crafted a letter and a plea to neighbors to request help from the City of Seattle. They’ve sent out a letter asking everyone to write or e-mail City officials asking for removal of encampments in the park land around the Fremont Troll.
There have been recent thefts at area businesses, and your help is being requested in identifying the thieves and reporting them to Seattle Police.
Today, Seattle Parks & Recreation has announced that the renovated play area and viewing plaza at Gas Works Park has now re-opened.
