Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) wants customers to know that garbage, recycling, and food & yard waste collections will take place on a normal schedule Thursday, July 4th, Independence Day. Also, during this holiday, please note that leaving unused fireworks around your house – or summer cabin, grandparent’s place or other recreational shelter – can be dangerous to your children, pets, visitors and the entire structure.
At History House, on Monday, July 1st, starting at 5p, the Lake Union District Council (LUDC) will review City grant requests for street improvements and hear a presentation on proposed improvements for Aurora Avenue by Jonathan Dong of the Seattle Department of Transportation.

Kvichak Marine Industries, located in Fremont, recently completed delivery of fifteen Rapid Response Skimmer to the U.S. Navy, bringing the total number of Kvichak-built skimmers operated by the Navy world-wide to 85.
