On September 2nd, from 6p – 8p, in University Heights Center Room #209, the City of Seattle Department of Neighborhoods will hold a public workshop on how to get a Small & Simple Neighborhood Matching Fund Grant.
On September 9th, 10th & 12th, two artists, Laura Haddad and Tom Drugan will be set up in front of the Fremont PCC Natural Market just to talk to you! They want to know what you think of our community – what does Fremont mean to you? Do you have a memento, photo, icon, etc. that symbolizes the Fremont experience?
On Friday, August 28th, at 8p, ‘Scratch My Back’ will be at West of Lenin Theatre for a one-night-only evening of macabre and eccentric stories. At WofL, Bret Fetzer will tell his most recently written American fairy tales in a sprightly, dynamic style.
On Saturday, August 29th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies will hold its final screening of its 2015 season. This all-ages showing of ‘The Lego Movie’ will end the season much as it began, with each kid under 12-years-old getting in free with a paid adult (thanks to Jameson Irish Whiskey,) and the Seattle Pops frozen dessert truck on-site.
On August 29th, from 9a – 4p, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will host the third annual ‘Universe Wiffleball Classics’ tournament, as a fundraiser for the Chamber community grant programs.
Over the weekend of October 2nd – 4th, at Doric Lodge 92, join in three-days of enlivening your creativity through process painting with ‘The Painting Experience.’
Once again, the Fremont Outdoor Movies celebrates ‘The Dude’ with its annual festival and screening of the cult classic ‘The Big Lebowski.’ This year’s 21+ only movie party will include live music by the Fremont Philharmonic Orchestra, and a $500 cash prize costume contest for the Best Dude, and other cast members.
On Saturday, September 19th, the Fremont Arts Council will host its annual Luminata Lantern Walk starting from the Green Lake Aqua Theater. A new route this year – east to Evans instead of west – will allow more room along the way for a selection of art installations, and the FAC has some money to give to artists wishing to create.
