Advance tickets on sale now to help raise money for the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) the fun way, with the 11th annual Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival. Come enjoy seasonal microbrews, sophisticated Scotch, Washington whiskies, and the spring release wine – and support bringing independent, quality films to Seattle.
This Thursday, February 16th, from 5:30p – 7:30p, an Open House for Stone34, the development proposed for 3400 Stone Way, will take place in the Fremont Abbey Café in the Arts Center.
As pedestrians may have noticed, the wacky folk at Not A Number Cards & Gifts have put out a series of ‘Burma Shave’ style signs along the sidewalk of North 35th Street to attract attention to the store’s new location. In an effort to keep the signs fresh and interesting, the store is hosting a a slogan contest. The top three slogan submissions (as judged by the decidedly off-beat, always original Not A Number crew) will receive gift certificates for $5, $10 or $15 to purchase amazing items from Not A Number.
Opening night fast approaches for the Stone Soup Theatre production of the Pulitzer prize winning play, ‘The Young Man From Atlanta,’ by Horton Foote. The show will run through March 10th, but get tickets early to be sure to get a seat. Tickets for all performances are available for purchase online at Brown Paper Tickets or GoldStar, or through the Stone Soup Box Office at 206/633-1883. Shows go on at 8p on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, with matinee shows at 4p on Sundays, February 26th and March 4th.
On Wednesday, February 15th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce will host its monthly general membership meeting, this time with Paul Nicely of Eaton Vance. He will provide information on how politics affects taxes. On Thursday, February 16th, at 10a, the Fremont Chamber will host a special transportation meeting, at History House. This free, open-to-the-public discussion will feature representatives from King County METRO and the City of Seattle Office Of Economic Development(OED.)
