Peak Park Community Clean Up On Oct. 30th

This Sunday, October 30th, from 10a – 1p, the Friends of Fremont Peak Park will hold one of their popular work parties. Mulching and planting, as well as a little trimming, are planned. Also, coffee, snacks and any other goodies volunteers wish to bring along. Please RSVP in advance – at info@FremontPeakPark.org – so they will have tools and space for you to work.

Ready or Not, Here Comes Not A Number!

After nearly six years in Wallingford, the legendary gift shop, Not A Number, has moved on. While owners Kara Ceriello and John DeLeeuw originally started the shop on Queen Anne, they looked toward Ballard for relocation. Yet, the cosmos – and that wondrous pull of the Center of the Universe – drew them to Fremont where they intend to reopen on November 11, 2011, “disseminating progressive ideas and items,” as the shop motto states.

Bubbleman Blow Bubbles At Trick-or-Treat In Fremont

At Red Triangle (a.k.a. Lenin), on Monday, October 31st, from 3:30p – 4:30p, Seattle’s own Bubbleman will perform a special fall show, crafting his spectacular bubble creations specifically for the cool, crisp autumn air. This is a special show, sponsored by the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, takes place as part of Trick-or-Treat In Fremont, from 3p – 6p.

Opportunity To Be Immersed In The Art Of Eastern Europe In 2012

Artist – and art car-tist – Kelly Lyles will lead a delegation on an exploration of the contemporary art of Berlin, Budapest, and Prague as part of a professional and cultural exchange program with WTE Inc. This 12-day tour from April 20th – May 1st, 2012, will explore central and eastern European art in context, with an informed, working artist as a guide.

Have An Ale & Fight Alzheimer’s Disease On Oct. 8th

On Saturday, October 8th, from 4p – 8p, the Alzheimer’s Association invites all good-hearted Fremonsters (and their drinking companions) to participate in the Ales For Alzheimer’s – Fremont Edition fundraiser. Ten Fremont pubs have agreed to participate in this effort to build awareness and reach out to those with loved ones who have been diagnosed, or died, from Alzheimer’s Diesease, or a related dementia.

Cancellation of Round 2 of Slow Ride Speed Date

Unfortunately, the ‘Slow Ride Speed Date’ gathering at Hub And Bespoke, scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th, has been cancelled. Advance sign-ups failed to reach the critical mass necessary for a successful speed dating event, although positive responses continue to be heard about this creative, cycling twist for singles’ looking to meet.

Fremont Chamber Hosts Monthly Tech Geek Meet-Up Thursday

The Fremont Chamber of Commerce monthly meet up of tech specialists gives those who work in IT, software, hardware, networking, web development, etc. a chance to gather together, informally, for fun, food, drink and free wi-fi!
