Great news off the Seattle Police Department Blotter (click here,) about the arrest of a suspect in several arson fires in Queen Anne, Ballard and South Fremont; fires set in October and November 2018. Unfortunately, this suspect is not believed to be connected to the arson fires set in the early hours of December 24th, 2018, in Fremont.

SPU continues its work on the Ship Canal Water Quality Project, and has reached a milestone – the design of the 2.7 mile, 18’10” diameter storage tunnel is complete and the contract for construction will be put out soon.
With temperatures at freezing levels, and potentially staying there for an extended time, the risk of water pipes freezing up rises. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) wants to remind customers to protect their pipes and avoid serious consequences.
While road conditions have improved, slightly, temperatures are still predicted to be so low tonight that the Fremont Sunday Market, and the Food Truck Round-Up, planned for February 10th, have been rescheduled.
