Help Fund Programs At B.F. Day Swellegant-ly

On Saturday, March 10th, the B.F. Day Elementary School PTSA will host an annual community building party that also raises money to fund vital programs for our public school. Swellegant, a cocktail party and mini-auction (with the fabulous Golden Raffle) will bring together Fremont community members and B.F. Day to socialize, and takes place from 7p – 11p at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center.

Girl Scout Cookie Sale Enters Week Two

Got cookies? Need more? The Girl Scout Cookie Sale enters week two this Friday, and reports are that the girls (and their parents) love Fremont! Keep that love going by stopping by cookie site sales to voice your support, buy more cookies, and/or donate to Operation Cookie Drop – to buy cookies to send to our military service men and women around the world!

Final B.F. Day Playground Improvement Meeting on March 7th

On Wednesday, March 7th, from 6p – 8p, come see the preferred design draft for the improvements for the B.F. Day Elementary School playground. The meeting, held in the school gymnasium, is the third, and last, of community outreach efforts to get Fremonsters involved in planning what we want to see on our playground.

Get First Look At The Newest History House Exhibit

On Saturday, March 3rd, History House will unveil its newest exhibit, ‘Becoming Us – Through Immigrant Eyes.’ From 2p – 3p, there will be a Grand Opening, free and open-to-the-public, where everyone can get the first look at this exhibit, and meet some of the creators.

March Fremont First Friday Art Walk

On March 2nd, from 6p – 9p, the Fremont First Friday Art Walk will further expand opportunities to engage and enjoy art, and meet the artists. Two new venues starting this month are: The Christy Carner Salon & Spa, featuring L.R. Odette, and the Planet Earth Yoga Center, featuring Made’ Sumaradana.

Woodland Park Community Preschool Now Offers Five-Year Olds Program

Woodland Park Community Preschool, located in the Fremont Baptist Church building, has just announced its new 5’s program, the latest addition to its community of cooperative schools. Classes will meet Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1-4 p.m. The school will enroll students due to turn five on or before December 31, 2012.

Get A Full Helping of Pickled Okra at Gypsy This Saturday, January 14th

On Saturday, January 14th, starting at 7p, local band Pickled Okra will entertain their fans, and soon-to-be fans, at The Gypsy café, as they celebrate the release of their new CD, called ‘Sounds Like Chicken.’ The CD will be given out free to all ticket buyers. Purchase yours today for $12 in advance (on Brown Paper Tickets) and $15 at the door (ages 18 and under get in free.)
