FAC Hosts Public Luminata Lantern Making Workshops

The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) welcomes everyone to come make art in the public Powerhouse workshop at 3940 Fremont Ave N, for free! This month, they will host lantern making sessions, in preparation for Luminata at dusk on September 21st at Green Lake.

Limited-Edition ‘Storm Tossed Rye Whiskey’ Arrives From The Seas To Fremont

Fremont Mischief has partnered with ‘The Deadliest Catch’ Captain Sig Hansen, Captain Casey McManus and Captain Josh Harris to create ‘Storm Tossed Rye Whiskey’, available starting August 20th. The ‘Whiskey Slam’, an epic competition, will create two flavors of rye, aged on the rough, storm-tossed West Bering Sea or for a season longer on the smooth, frigid Arctic seas. Best of all, sales of both blends will benefit charitable foundations that support the commercial fishing workers.

Put Your Phrase Down For Posterity With A Patches Paver

This fall, a few more of the pavers beneath the J.P. Patches & Gertrude statue, the ‘Late For The Interurban’ by Kevin Edwin Pettelle, will be engraved – and if you want to share your message, name or honor a friend forever in Fremont – the deadline to contact History House of Greater Seattle about your own personalized paver is Friday, August 26th at 5p.

On Thursday, August 25th, at 5:30p, join other Fremont community members as we sample spirits, savor hors d’oeuvres, and tour our kitschy-cool distillery – all to benefit the Wallingford (& Fremont) Community Senior Center.

Google Hosts A Free Training For Local Non-Profits

In the Fremont Google offices, on August 4th, from 9a – 12:30p, more than 80 local non-profits will be given training in using valuable on-line tools for mobile fundraising, AdWords, and story visualization. Through Google for Nonprofits more good work can be done by area non-profits – faster, easier and at lower cost.

Please vote by August 2nd! Registered voters should have received a ballot in mid-July, and right now is an excellent time to sit down and fill it out – and mail it or drop it in a King County ballot drop-box (the closest to Fremont is at the Ballard Branch Library,) by Tuesday, August 2nd.
