The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) 2014 Solstice Parade will take to the streets of Fremont on Saturday, June 21st at 3p. Those who have a great idea for art, but might need a little money (up to $1,500) to realize it, can apply now for one of the Dave McKay Parade Art Grants. The deadline is Monday, April 7th, at 5p
On November 9th, at 3p, the Fremont Fireside Chat series – sponsored by HomeStreet Bank – will continue at History House of Greater Seattle with ‘The 1,003 Stories of Fremont.’

At the Fremont Fair, June 21st – 23rd, art in every form – from body paint to community sculptures – can be found along the streets of the Center of the Universe. This celebration of “De Libertas Quirkas,” (the Freedom to Be Peculiar) can be enjoyed through the artistic whimsies of chalk art, handmade jewelry, and live music.
Last week, on Sunday, June 2nd, Peter Glick Restaurants (Roxy’s Diner/The Backdoor/Pete’s Fremont Fire Pit) hosted a very successful BBQ Extravaganza – and raised money to make the 25th Solstice Parade (coming June 22nd at 3p) a reality.
Sunday, June 2nd, will be the Fremont BBQ Extravaganza featuring a PNWBA sanctioned BBQ competition, live music, beverages, samples, a bagel ring toss, mini-pancake eating contest, and a costumed dog parade.
This Saturday, May 25th, History House of Greater Seattle gets clean and gets (Fremont) culture, with a garden work party in the morning and the second Fremont Fireside Chat in the afternoon.
On Sunday, June 2nd, from 10a – 11p, the largest BBQ Competition in Seattle will take place in Fremont on the new U-Park System lot at Roxy’s Diner – as a fundraiser for the 25th FAC Solstice Parade.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, from 7p – 9p, the Fremont Arts Council will host a wine-and-cheese reception for the artist’s selected as winners of this year’s Dave McKay Grants at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, lower floor.
