Design Review of 744 N 34th St Ends In Recommendation For Permitting

On July 6th, the City of Seattle Department of Planning & Development held a public Design Review Meeting on the proposed development for 744 N 34th St. The proposal is for a five-story office & retail building (with parking for over 200 vehicles and 200 bicycles on the property,) replacing buildings that currently house Carquest, Salsa Con Todo, Café Turko, Dragonfly Holistic Healing, Milstead & Co, and History House of Greater Seattle.

METRO Transit To Be Rerouted During Solstice Parade

This weekend, one of the best ways to come to see the Fremont Fair and the Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade is by riding METRO transit. A special shuttle bus will be run on Saturday between Downtown Seattle and the south end of the Fremont Bridge, every 15 minutes from 12:12p – 6:57p.

Give Input on The Draft Transportation Levy Now

In March, City of Seattle Mayor Ed Murray introduced a proposal for a nine-year, $900 million levy to replace the $365 million Bridging The Gap levy due to expire at the end of 2015. The proposed Transportation Levy to Move Seattle is focused on basics: maintaining streets, bridges and sidewalks, and also investing in the future with improvements intended to provide more transportation choices to move more people and goods around this growing city, by increasing the property taxes paid by all residents in the City of Seattle.

Fremont Bridge Closures This Weekend

This weekend, March 28th & 29th, in the wee hours (midnight – 7a,) the Fremont Bridge will be closed to all vehicles (cars, trucks and transit) while the construction crew finishes painting the 100-year-old structure. During the closure, two five-minute bridge crossing opportunities will be offered for pedestrians and bicycle riders at 1:20a and 2:20a.
