On Tuesday, June 27th at 7p, join members of the Puget Soundkeeper for a cold drink and a warm dinner at The Leary Traveler. Learn about the evolution of pollution in Puget Sound from three fantastic, well-educated presenters, in a relaxing and convivial setting, with ‘Pint-Sized Science.’
While our waterways continue to overwhelm us with their beauty, lurking under the surface are hotspots of contamination. Scientists and regulators are working to remove the existing pollution, while new developments and increasing usage create more runoff and raise the risks of further contamination.
A panel of three well-informed scientists will talk about the history of the contamination, and meaningful individual actions that can be taken to reduce our impact and protects our waterways for future generations. Hear from:
- Dr. Tracy Collier, NOAA NWFSC (retired)
- Sandra O’Neill, Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife
- Dr. Andy James, UW-Tacoma Center for Urban Waters
