For over 60 years Wallingford has hosted one of the longest running Seafair parades, formerly known as the Kiddie Parade. Now neighborhood organizations, the Wallingford Chamber of Commerce and the Wallingford Community Senior Center, have teamed up to continue this traditional, family-favorite on Saturday, July 6th at 11a!
As the festivities grow and expand, organizers have renamed it the ‘Wallingford Family’ parade and festival to reflect the emphasis on the collective neighborhood family that participates: neighbors, business, organizations, and schools.
This official Seafair Sanctioned Community Event invites organized groups to participate, as well as neighborhood families. The theme this year is ‘Wild For Wallingford!’ and the Parade Grand Marshal is the Woodland Park Zoo Asian Small-Clawed Otter.
A Family Festival will also take place, from Noon – 5p, on July 6th at the Meridian Playground, adjacent to the Good Shepard Center. The community based festival will feature local craft and food vendors, demonstrations, live music and, of course, plenty of activities for kids.
