On Saturday, April 20th, starting at 8a, The Tenacious Ten 10K & 10-Mile Race will invite runners, and cheer-ers, to jog ‘round Lake Union, and along a route between Gas Works Park and Ballard – right through the Center of the Universe.
About 2,500 runners and spectators are expected for The Tenacious Ten, organized by Snohomish Running Company and Oiselle apparel. As well, local businesses have been invited, along with non-profits, to set up booths and tables at Gas Works Park to share information and sell products before this exciting running event, supporting the work of Heifer International.
For those not participating in The Tenacious Ten, the following roads will be closed for the safety of runners and spectators:
- 7:55a to 8:30a – Northlake Way, between Meridian and 6th Ave NE
- 7:55a to 8:30a – Right lane of NE 40th southbound to Roosevelt Way
- 7:55a to 8:30a – Right lane of University Bridge southbound
- 7:55a to 9:15a – Right lane of Eastlake Ave E southbound to Fairview Ave N
- 7:55a to 9:15a – Fairview Ave N bike lane southbound
- 7:55a to 10:30a – Right lane of Westlake Ave N northbound to Fremont Bridge
- 7:55a to 10:30a – Right lane on Fremont Bridge (northbound turning lane) on to N 34th St
- 7:55a to 8:30a – N 34th St bike lane eastbound to Northlake Way
In addition, ‘No Parking’ signs will be placed under the I-5 bridge to E Newton St, and METRO bus routes along southbound Eastlake Ave and Westlake Ave will be altered.
The 10-Mile Race portion will be conducted on the Canal portion of the Burke-Gilman Trail, with turn-around beneath the Ballard Bridge. A full map of the race course can be viewed on-line (click here.)
