At the Fremont Fair, June 21st – 23rd, art in every form – from body paint to community sculptures – can be found along the streets of the Center of the Universe. This celebration of “De Libertas Quirkas,” (the Freedom to Be Peculiar) can be enjoyed through the artistic whimsies of chalk art, handmade jewelry, and live music.
Must-see artsy activities include:
- Fremont Abbey Arts for All: Grow your brain on the arts at the Abbey booth with activities including a growing brain sculpture, chalk art, music makers, art-cycle, and smell Haiku! Plus, live performers and bands on the Fremont Abbey stage!
- Seattle Art Car Blowout: See 50+ funky decorated art cars, from across the U.S. and Canada, on display in the Burke Building parking lot (on N 35th St, between Evanston Avenue and Phinney Avenue.)
- Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade: The 25th Solstice Parade will take over the streets of Fremont on Saturday, June 22nd, starting at 3p, with its showcase of art on the move, and this year incorporating Honk! Fest West
- Arts & Crafts Shopping: The Fair features over 300 booths filled with original arts and crafts, imports, and delicious culinary dishes.
- Yoga for the Solstice: Planet Earth Yoga will lead a free session of hatha yoga. Bring your mat to salute the sun and celebrate the solstice at 10:30a on Sunday, June 22nd.
- Sunday Dog Parade: Fremont’s four-legged friends can participate in the pup procession on Sunday, June 22nd at 2:30pm, with puppies outfitted in creative costumes or… au naturale.
