This Saturday, August 11th, the Fremont Outdoor Movies adds a touch of class as the movie ‘Sideways’ lights up the wall, and a wine garden (ID required, 21+ only) allows tastings of a few, select vintages for those sipping under the stars.
‘Sideways,’ starring Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church and Virginia Madsen`, won big acclaim for a relatively small movie with talented but underexposed actors. The movie, about two men reaching middle age and disappointed with their lives, follows their week long road trip through California’s wine country. Nominated for five Academy Award ‘Oscars’, the film won a Best Writing award for director Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor. Director Payne has also been celebrated for his films ‘The Descendants’ and ‘About Schmidt’, and as a writer and producer of many other small but critically successful films.
Purchase tickets in advance to guarantee a place to set your chairs, or arrive after gates open at 7p, on Saturday, August 11th, to enjoy this great film. Expect many other activities and give-aways before the movie shines on the ‘screen’ after dusk.
