Once again, the Fremont Outdoor Movies celebrates ‘The Dude’ with its annual festival and screening of the cult classic ‘The Big Lebowski.’ This year’s 21+ only movie party will include live music by the Fremont Philharmonic Orchestra, and a $500 cash prize costume contest for the Best Dude, and other cast members.
Each year, the noir-ish ‘Big Lebowski’, created by the incomparable Coen Brothers, inspires White Russians, film quotes and merriment as mad as the original movie. It’s idiosyncratic characters and sharp Chandler-esque dialogue comes to life each year at this local Lebowski-fest. Come take part as the Dude abides…!
In addition to the movie (deemed ‘culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant’ enough to be preserved by the National Film Registry,) live music and costumes, like at every Outdoor Cinema food will be available for purchase from the NOSH and Hallava Fallafel food trucks, and adult beverages from the beer garden. In addition, the first 400 attendees will be given free travel blankets thanks to Jameson Irish Whiskey, with advance ticket holders getting first dibs. Purchase tickets in advance through Stranger Tickets.
