On Saturday, May 18th, from 1p – 5p, the Fremont Arts Council welcomes everyone to come start the celebration of the Summer Solstice – and find your place in the 31st Annual Fremont Solstice Parade & Celebration coming on June 22nd.
The Powerhouse is open, at 3940 Fremont Ave N, for working on your float or ensemble – or gaining inspiration! Come meet the McKay Grant Artists, and find ways you can engage in the ensembles already assembled. Get a sneak peek at advance designs for floats planned for this year’s parade.
Learn about parade art techniques, and find volunteer activities that suit your schedule and interests. The Powerhouse is a free, public studio space and at the Open House, learn your way around the workshop. Take part in tours, share snacks and hear history of this legendary summer spectacle!
Find out more about the magic (and mayhem) of the Fremont Solstice Parade, and the schedule of open workshops and classes coming through parade building season, starting on May 18th from 1p – 5p. Information can also be found on the Fremont Arts Council website (click here.)
