On Saturday, October 19th, the American Cancer Society will host the ‘Making Strides of Seattle’ at Gas Works Park. Come join friends and cancer survivors for this opportunity to unite and save lives from breast cancer.
Come together with survivors, caregivers, and supporters of all walks of life who are passionate about saving lives. Celebrate shared efforts. Inspire everyone to carry on. And take comfort in the knowledge that because of the dedication of so many individuals, no one walks alone.
Registration for ‘Making Strides’ opens at 9a, with the official walk starting at 10a and venturing through Fremont on the Burke-Gilman Trail. And while this is a non-competitive walk, all participants, including children, need to register – and pre-registration on-line is easiest.
All breast cancer survivors are encouraged to visit the VIP Tent, to receive a shirt, sash and special surprises! There will be food trucks at the Park, for those who need a nosh, including Cheesesteak Madness, Seattle Baking, and Puft Bubble Waffles.
Doggies are also invited to join the ‘Making Strides’ walk, with the second annual Best Dressed Dog Competition taking place after the 5K. Enter your pup by e-mailing (click here) your name, your canine companion’s name and your e-mail address. For those who want to attend, but either can’t walk or don’t, please feel welcome to come hang out and show support for the walkers.
This is a rain or shine fun-raiser for breast cancer!
Please consider joining together at Gas Works for ‘Making Strides’, and helping raise money for the 501(c)3 non-profit American Cancer Society.
