This Friday, November 1st, from 6p – 9p, take an Art Walk ‘round Fremont – exploring the varied venues and amazing artists that will participate in Fremont’s First Friday Art Walk. Now, the Fremont’s First Fridays have a new website, with more maps and directions about where to find art.
For November, Frame-Up Studios will have block prints and etchings, capturing an array of spectacular birds, all by Liz Neuman. This is Neuman’s third exhibition at Frame-Up, and provides collectors and casual viewers a chance to look inside her aviary.
At Portage Bay Goods, see an alternative to the usual photography and/or painting with Cathy Pascual of Catshy Crafts and her lovely felty, stitchy things. Included among this creative display, find handmade holiday wreaths and other wall art made out of soft, touchable materials, all of which will be on-display (and available) all month for purchase.
Pel’Meni Dumpling Tzar has a familiar Fremont favorite, photographer Leo Santiago, on display with his iconic images, and his manipulations of camera, light, expression and color. As always, at Pel’Meni, use the phrase ‘Make art, not war’ for a $1 discount on an order of dumplings.
Fall shouldn’t end enjoyment of the First Friday strolling, and it could start some new habits of Art Walking. This is a great way to get some exercise – for the body and the spirit! Take a look at the new Fremont Art Walk website, and make your route through the incredible diversity of venues and artists available on November 1st.
