Threads: An Evening of Dances – at the Fremont Abbey

On Saturday, July 16th, at 8p, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, an evening of dances, choreographed and performed by Seattle’s next generation of dance makers, will be showcased under the title of THREADS.  The evening features the considerable choreographic talent of Katy Hagelin of Katy Haglin Dance Project, Sarah Seder of Sapience Dance Collective, Victoria Jacobs of Sapience Dance Collective, Lilah Steece & Danny Herter, Kenaniah Bystrom, and the Abbey’s own Victoria McConnell.

Each work presented developed from a different background, and a unique movement style, but all connect in theme, friendship and the language of dance.  This show is about conversation, and a celebration of the threads of connection between the choreographers, audience, dancers and dance makers.

Arrive early to enjoy delicious offerings in the Abbey Café (opening at 7p,) or one of the neighboring restaurants.  Also, plan to stay after the performance and chat with the choreographers and dancers – as well as Karin Stevens, the Fremont Abbey Dance Curator who gathered together the dance makers presented in THREADS.

Tickets can be purchased through BrownPaperTickets, at a cost of $12 for advance purchase, and $15 at the door.  This is an all-ages event.
