The inspirational and insightful play, ‘American Hwangap’ has two more weeks of performances at West of Lenin.  Be sure to catch this show, which inspires discussion and conversation, with friends, before it closes on February 25th!

Directed by WofL Founder A.J. Epstein, ‘American Hwangap’ is about Min Suk Chun, on the return from his native Korea, celebrating his 60th birthday, or ‘hwangap.’  He meets with his ex-wife and adult children, and the family have to navigate and reconcile their broken pasts during a present and tense weekend.  This story, written by accomplished playwright Lloyd Suh, contains heartbreak and half-filled expectations, along with a large serving of humor.  The production stars Kathy Hsieh, Stephen Sumida, Moses Yim, Mara Palma, and Michael Cercado.

This story of a family reunion, both real and relatable, will only be available at West of Lenin through February 25th, with performances on Thursdays – Saturdays at 8p, and a Sunday matinee at 2p.  Purchase tickets today through Brown Paper Tickets.
