Two family-friendly gatherings are scheduled for the Fremont-area for this week, and possibly throughout the month of June.
On Wednesday, June 10th at 5:30p, a peaceful protest is scheduled for Fremont & Wallingford neighbors, and anyone who wants ‘to come together and stand-up against police brutality and racist policies, in support of Black & Brown people’. This gathering is centered at N 45th Street along Stone Way N, and people are encouraged to spread out by standing from N 47th (Diva Espresso) down to N 43rd (Friday Afternoon Tea.) Find out more about this gathering on June 10th on Facebook (click here,) although these Black Lives Matter protests are currently planned for every Wednesday and Sunday through June.
On Saturday, June 13th, from 11a – Noon, a Black Lives Matter Walk in Solidarity is being organized for the B.F. Day community, and all supporters, around the block of the school. Attendees are reminded that face masks are required as is social distancing. Also, there will be no access to the playground, school building or restrooms. Please consider joining this thoughtful, community effort to show affection and allegiance with the Black Lives Matter movement.
These are ways to show your support for Black Lives Matter, with your kids and among friends. Black Lives Matter Seattle has also called for a state-wide strike on Friday, June 12th, for those looking for another way to show support!
