This Saturday, Fremonsters can find out more about dogs and our community – for free!
From Noon to 1:30p, attend a talk about ‘Learn To Speak Dog: Beyond Sit and Stay’ given by dog trainer Brett Shelby at the Fremont Branch of the Seattle Public Library. Open to the public, Shelby will share tips and answer questions – for dog owners or those who simply want to know more about canines. No dogs can be allowed into the presentation, but Shelby will be bringing Danny along – he is a shepherd/Rottweiler mix rescue dog. Danny needs a home – an active home, Shelby recommends – and it is hoped that potential parents will come to meet him as well. Learn more about Shelby, and Danny, in the Fremocentrist.com column from October 28th.
After a late lunch, walk over to History House and hear another presentation, from 3p – 4p, on Fremont history and culture. The November Fremont Fireside Chat will tell highlights from ‘1,003 Stories of Fremont’, and the 1,000+ columns written/edited by me. This presentation will sprawl through profiles, anecdotes and interesting tidbits over 15 years of Fremont. It will also include a lot of opportunities to ask questions about your favorite Fremont story – and a free reception to follow for juice-and-cookies, and more opportunities to ask and chat. Find out more about this event on the Facebook page or at Brown Paper Tickets.
Let November 9th be the day you spend learning a little, laughing a little and enjoying all the interesting, all ages opportunities available at the Center of the Universe.
