Tomorrow, on Tuesday, March 27th, at 11:15a, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) will be at Patrick Place Apartments to announce an increase in Federal resources. These resources come nearly two years to the day after Senator Cantwell, with mayors from across our region, announced efforts to expand the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.
In addition to the Senator, Kim Herman, Executive Director of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission, is expected to announce the positive effect additional resources can have on new affordable housing projects. Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan is also expected to attend, in addition to residents from Patrick Place, a 71-unit apartment building constructed and maintained by Catholic Housing Services, for those who have been chronically homeless. Built in 2013, Patrick Place has already helped over 100 adults find their way out of homelessness and into hope.
